    Children need multiple repetitions of sentence structures to develop a strong understanding of oral syntax. These slides contain Colourful Semantics icons that can act as a scaffold for the targeted sentence structures.

    When using these slides, ensure that every student has a turn at saying the target sentence for each prompt. I.e. many opportunities of ‘saying together’ , ‘saying to our shoulder partner’, and ‘saying to the teacher’.

    All lessons are in PowerPoint format so they can be edited and expanded upon. We find the best opportunity to embed the skill/concept into curriculum content is during the ‘You Do’ phase of a lesson.
